FTSE4Good Index Series Constituent (2023)
July 2023 - Linde has been included in the FTSE4Good Index for the eighth consecutive year. The FTSE4Good Index Series is a tool for investors seeking to invest in companies that demonstrate strong sustainability practices. It is overseen by an independent external committee comprising experts within the investment community, business, NGOs, unions and academia. Inclusion in the FTSE4Good is based on rigorous analysis of each company against strict criteria, which are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook (2023)
March 2023 – Linde has been included in S&P Global's Sustainability Yearbook 2023, its 20th consecutive year of inclusion. The Sustainability Yearbook recognizes the world’s leading companies for sustainable business practices. Based on S&P Global's rigorous Corporate Sustainability Assessment, only companies scoring in the top 15% of their industry are included. Linde placed in the top 10% of the chemicals sector.
Linde Recognized as One of the 2023 World's Most Ethical Companies
March 2023 - Linde has been recognized as one of the 2023 World's Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices.
This year’s honorees span 19 countries and 46 industries. Linde was one of two companies in the chemical industry to receive the World’s Most Ethical Company recognition in 2023.
Terra Carta Seal (2022)
January 2023 - Linde has been awarded the Sustainable Market Initiative’s Terra Carta Seal. The Terra Carta Seal, launched at COP26 by HM King Charles III when he was Prince of Wales, recognizes global companies which are driving innovation and demonstrating their commitment to creating sustainable markets. It is awarded to companies whose ambitions are aligned with those of the Terra Carta, a recovery plan for nature, people and planet. Linde is one of only 19 companies to have been awarded the 2022 Terra Carta Seal.

Jones Sustainability World Index (2022)
December 2022 - Linde announced it has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) and DJSI North America. Linde is the only company in the chemicals sector that has been included in the DJSI World for twenty consecutive years.
Linde Receives Double 'A' For Both Water and Climate Stewardship from CDP 2022
December 2022 - Linde has been awarded an 'A' from CDP for its approach to tackling water security and for its approach to climate change. It is one of only a select group of global companies to achieve a double A, the top score on both assessments. CDP is a global environmental non-profit organization that works with financial institutions representing more than $130 trillion in assets to measure companies' risks and opportunities on climate change, water security and deforestation.
100 Best Corporate Citizens of 2021
July 2021 - Linde was named one of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens of 2021, recognizing outstanding environmental, social and governance (ESG) transparency and performance amongst the 1,000 largest, publicly traded U.S. companies. The 2021 list benchmarks companies based on 146 ESG factors across eight categories, including how companies responded to the COVID-19 pandemic and their support of social equality initiatives.
Linde Awarded Best-in-Class for Sustainability Disclosure Practices 2021
May 2021 - Linde has received the best possible rating from ISS Environment QualityScore in sustainability disclosure practices.
ISS QualityScore helps investors monitor the environmental risks in their portfolio companies. It measures the depth and extent of company disclosure relative to their industry group and is designed to indicate the company's understanding and preparedness to address environmental risks.
Solactive Europe Corporate Social Responsibility Index (2020)
September 2020 – Linde plc has been reconfirmed as a constituent of the Solactive Europe Corporate Social Responsibility Index PR (formerly Ethibel Sustainability Index Excellence Europe). The index assesses aspects comprising human rights, human capital, environmental social impact, market ethics and corporate governance.
MSCI Upgrades Linde's ESG Rating to A
June 2020 - Linde has been upgraded to A in MSCI's ESG Ratings assessment, on a scale of CCC to AAA. The improvement from BBB was mainly attributed to the company's comprehensive decarbonization strategy, including its initiatives to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 35% and double the annual purchase of renewable power by 2028.
