Dr. Thomas Enders served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EADS and Airbus from 2005 until 2019. He had been a member of the Executive Committee since its creation in 2000. In 2020, he was appointed a member of the Supervisory Board of Knorr Bremse AG, Germany.
Prior to joining the aerospace industry at MBB/DASA in 1991, Dr. Enders worked, inter alia, as a Member of the “Planungsstab” of the German Minister of Defence and as a Research Fellow at DGAP (German Council on Foreign Relations). He studied Economics, Political Science and History at the University of Bonn and at the University of California in Los Angeles.
Dr. Enders was President of the BDLI (German Aerospace Industry Association) from 2005 to 2012 and a member of the Board of BDI (Association of German Industry) from 2009 until 2019. From 2005 to 2009, he was Chairman of Atlantik-Brücke e.V. Dr Enders was a member of the Supervisory Board of Linde AG from 2017 until 2019. In June 2019, he was elected President of DGAP (German Council on Foreign Relations).
