Would you like to augment your theoretical knowledge with practical experience? Linde offers a range of possibilities within its group of companies, for various types of placements including initial orientation, study-related and voluntary employment through to overseas work experience, in technical and business areas.
You will be involved in setting your objectives, which will depend on the type of work experience that you are completing, and you will be individually responsible for completing assigned projects.
In addition to gaining an overview of daily business operations, this is a good opportunity for you to get to know what life is like in your specialist field at Linde, and for us to get to know you and understand your skills. When we both agree that you would be a good fit for Linde, then the completion of your work experience will open the door to our student programme Action.
Perhaps you would like to study and work at the same time? As a working student, you can gain practical experience with the Linde Group in parallel with your academic studies, and you can share your commitment and know-how with us. You’ll work with us on a fixed number of hours per week or month, joining an existing team, and getting involved in various projects.
For both types of work placement, we ask that you apply directly to your preferred business division. Please also note that the general terms and conditions for work experience placements vary according to business division.
Our student programme Action
We have developed Action to keep in touch with work experience students who make a good impression during their time with us, through their high achievements and by demonstrating their high levels of commitment, convincing us that they would fit well into Linde’s world.
Approximately 10 per cent of work experience students are offered a place on this special programme, following an appraisal of their achievements while working with us.
In addition to keeping our selected students up-to-date with news from Linde throughout the year, we organize guided tours of our plants, seminars and a lot more for them.
By taking part in Action, you will learn interesting facts about Linde and at the same time have the opportunity to build a network with your fellow students and swap stories and experiences about your placements.
And finally, we will of course provide support to those students who opt to complete overseas work experience, or are searching for a mentor while completing their thesis.

Thesis studies
Are you nearing the completion of your studies? We offer you the possibility to complete your thesis on a challenging subject, supported by Linde experts. You will have the opportunity to put your knowledge to the test, and at the same time, develop personal contacts within Linde who may be able to help open the door to employment with us at the conclusion of your studies.
The Linde Group offers mentors to students completing their theses in both technical and business fields. You can find a selection of potential topics listed on our thesis exchange board. In addition, we are open to your suggestions, and we look forward to receiving speculative applications. Please note that applications must be addressed directly to the relevant business unit.
